R11 tp driver review wrx

I am going to pick up this driver in the next few months. I havnt changed drivers in 4 years This driver here, after hitting it makes me want to change. Ive never hit a club that instantly made me think this way This club will be in my bag.

Diver: Taylormade M1. F9 9 degree Diamana white. Srixon Z star. Seriously the best club I've ever hit. I wanna steal one. Initial Impressions: - Although the head is supposed to be cc, the white head looks huge. Ball flew high, straight and 30yrs to the right of aim. Ball traveled as far as previously best hit balls. Decent carry distance with good roll. S-Flex shafts generated mid-high straight shots directly at target. Generated distances as good as previous best shots. No ballooning effect of SuperTri.

AxivCore Black 69gm and HD6 produced the best results for me because the shafts were a stronger stiff. All TM based S-Flex shafts still felt slightly whippy with this head configuration.

Balls flew high with good distance but were not predictable in direction: straight, slight draw or slight fade. Good carry distance with very good roll. Could not get much height without closing face with FCT. S-Flex shafts generated high straight shots directly at target. Very good carry distance and good roll. The AxivCore shaft performed the best in terms of distance and predictability for me. All other shafts were slightly unpredictable.

Although the distances were very good, the dispersion could be bad. Observations: - The driver is fairly forgiving and allows for easy alignment with the high contrast head - The face is hot and can produce very good distances if hit decently - The sound at contact is somewhat similar to the Cobra Speed LD but more muted. It doesn't have the traditional TM metallic sound which I prefer.

Definately have to get a strong S-Flex or weak X-Flex shaft to complement this head. Head feels significantly lighter D2 SW. Has to be the best driver I have ever hit, for the past 2 years I have owned 2 Nike Squared clubs and with these I would slice the ball like no tomorrow, I am a lefty.

After trying this club the other day just on the neutral setting the ball would go either straight or a slight hook, don't get me wrong the slice was there but more controllable than the other clubs I have owned. I was sold at that point, so I picked up the R11 The standard and TP R11 use the same exact head. My wife suprised me with a The clubface is hot and the balance is perfect I don't care for a lot of the newer lighter and longer drivers where you can't feel the weight of the head.

I'm still getting the rust off my swing, so I haven't messed with the adjustments besides setting the sole plate to open. BTW, that adjustable sole plate does NOT change the actual face angle, it simply changes the way the face appears at address when resting on the ground.

I haven't tried any of the r9 configurations although I was looking at the superdeep and supertri before this came out. Going from an 09 Cleveland Launcher, Ping G5, and the original r Went to the store and tested the R11 and Razr Hawk against each other this past weekend and the Taylormade had a better weight and feel IMO, I also hit the ball more consitantly with the R I currently have a R7 Superquad and the R11 has a similar feel when swinging and through contact.

I don't think I hit the ball any farther with the 11 over my superquad but I had the itch for a new club so one is on the way. Hit my buddy's TP on the range yesterday and must admit I didn't want to like it Long, flat, straight ball flight with the stock TP X-flex shaft..

Even adjusted it to sit open for a few shots. This is a very cool club-. Looks good, but that's about where it ends. Didn't like it with any of the 5 shafts I tried in it.

Titleist TS3 8. Is anyone aware if TM will release a non-white version of the R11 driver? Before using the R11, my drives would slice so much ruining my game because I would have some difficult time recovering. Now with this R11 I can swing as hard as I possibly can and the ball will just tower and go dead straight almost every time. Love the R11! Mine is more a question than a review, as I had only 1 hit with the R Are there any distinct improvements in distance from the R9?

I like the look of the driver, but am not sure if it is worth the investment over the R9, which I hit quite well but not as far as my R7 quad, which sadly I gave away to a friend during the honeymoon period with my new R9. I was also wondering about Andy 16 handicap and off the tee, surely with that length you should have a lower handicap?

Just interested to hear as I have a similar problem at 15 handicap, although is more like the reality for me. Great reviews, thanks.

Golfalot Says: As our review says, there is not much performance benefit with the R11 over the R9. After hearing all the reviews and opinions on the R11, I finally had a chance to hit it on the range.

The white finish is certainly striking and I see it being a fairly 'marmite' feature; you'll either love it or hate it. One thing most golfers will not dislike is the performance. The upgraded shafts make a difference, but the club as a whole was very impressive. It felt light, and felt easy to hit.

TM somehow got around it and gives us more room for error while lowering our spin rates. Kudos to them. The new R11S is bigger, faster, more tunable and longer than the original R11 driver. A cc matte-white finish head is powered by a new 5-sided ASP plate, new 1. With 3D Tuning, you can independently tune loft, face angle and flight path your swing. Recently purchased this club used at golfsmith, I got it in I never knew how much the right shaft could do, my swing speed is with the driver.

I also tried the R-1 as well just went with the R11s due to sound and feel. This is by far the most consistent driver I have owned, no need to replace it for some time. The R11s is a very good driver in my opinion with all the technology I have been gaining yards just by changing some settings so I would say to everyone looking for a new driver they should get this one. Now you know this is the real deal.

The R11 for some of my friends is still their favorite. I personally prefer the R11 S. They cant get to understand the difference. Definitely what I expected from TaylorMade. Great club … love hitting it. R11s is the best driver on the market. I traded my rbz driver in for the r11s and i hit the r11s so much straighter and about yards further than my rbz. R11s is the real deal. Just like the rbz 3 wood that club is also worth th money and hype love them both. I love the driver but have one issue with the adjustable sole plate.

Played 30 games with it so far. When using wooden tees, if the tee broke at impact sometimes the bottom of the broken tee or a chunk of it became lodged in the gap between impact side of the sole plate and the driver.

Because the plate is made of such light material, the face of the plate on the impact side would be dented inward and then more and more debris would get lodged in it. I have had the plate replaced once but it continues to happen.

I have to replace the plate yet again. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Your email address will not be published. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed. The Chicago-based company has been consistently putting out high-quality products, and golfers are really taking notice. The new C driver takes a lot of technology from the EXS line and further refines and expands on it.

I know it is a little cliche when companies say every model is their best ever, but Tour Edge is percent right this time. When unboxing the C the first thing I noticed was the much-improved looks and shape over the previous Tour Edge drivers. The biggest change to my eye is the added bulge, giving a more rounded and softened topline.

The overall shape of the C is slightly stretched from front to back, giving it just a hint of a triangular look. The Ridgeback is a titanium spine flanked by two carbon fiber wings that add stability and forgiveness to the head, but they can also work together and an additional aiming device to ensure you are lined up down the center of the fairway. Getting the C out on the course is where you really start to appreciate all the technology that went into this driver.

Well-struck shots are very long, very boring, and will hang with anything out on the market today. Center contact is rewarded with a long and very low spin shot that is just fun to hit. The sound and feel are very solid, you can really feel the ball compress on the face as it leaves at high speed. The sound is more of a muted crack and much quieter than I anticipated.

I know I won't get retail, but what is a fair price? This is my favorite driver of all Ive ever owned. What a difference it makes to find the right shaft to match your swing. I went thru 2 other shafts both had the TM logo graphics so I'm not sure if that made a difference but when I put the Bassara Hawk stiff shaft what a beast this became.

I'm driving the ball better now than I have all summer long. I finally gave in to the adjust-ability in driver as I did own a with Oban Devotion which wasn't bad but the R11 gives me more options with getting that desired ball flight.

R11 is the clear winner for driver of the year for I couldn't agree more with the benefits of adjustability. I love that I can set the club a bit more upright and slightly closed yet still have the face sit open on the ground to encourage more of an inside-to-out path and faster face closure to encourage a nice draw. Thank you Taylormade!

Also, the stock shaft Fuji Blur feels very solid. I'd say it's comparable to more expensive aftermarket shafts that I've used in previous drivers.

I'm not a big fan of the feel of this clubface. If you stray from the dark path, take the Superfast 2. Friends say the r7 Superquad TP and r9 Supertri have better feel and comparable distance. I've also hit the Titleist D2 on the course and squeezed at least 10 more yards out of it. Take it or leave it!

Besides the shaft options, what is the difference between the regular version and TP version heads on the R11? Rogue The heads as posted earlier are the same. The extra cost is for the shaft, and the TP sleeve inner dia. So far it is long and straight. I love the adjustability, and the fact that I can switch out the shaft with the twist of the wrench means that I don't have to buy a new driver every 15 minutes.

Love me my R11! Love this combo! No need to buy a new driver this year! Just got my hands on a 9deg TP Thanks for all the advice. Stock Fuji blur tp shaft. Will be bashing it later today Who do you love? Very informative and would be willing to answer any questions. Just picked up my tour issue r11 9 degree. Going to the range tomorrow to give it a test.

I will let you know my thoughts. Just got back from the range. Distance with the R11 is a little further than the r7. Most drives around 5 - 10 yards further.
