A chance to go back through two of the best third person action adventures that money can buy with all new improvements and refreshed visuals? So what's driving excitement about Total War: Warhammer 3? First off, it's bringing brand-new races that have never been in a TW: WH game before. That last one is especially interesting because it never had a proper army in the original Warhammer Fantasy Battle board game Which many TW: WH factions and units are based on.
That means Creative Assembly will effectively be working from scratch, creating entirely new heroes and gameplay elements from the ground up. This game mode, which debuted with Warhammer 2, allowed players who own both the first and second titles to effectively combine their maps and faction rosters into one massive game mode.
You could fight with and against any race that you own, which makes for some pretty amazing campaigns. Pretty cool, huh? Do you like slashing? Like its predecessor, Chivalry 2 is a fast, frenetic first-person slasher with an emphasis on skill-based melee combat and brutal team-oriented action. Chivalry had one of the most advanced melee combat systems out there, and the devs are hoping to kick things up a notch for game two. But thanks to the tireless work of Industries, PC players are finally able to experience the series in its entirety by way of the Master Chief Collection, which is available now.
That means we can be all caught up when the next, and possibly final Halo title releases this year: Halo Infinite. Fans criticized the cartoony visuals and lighting, primarily, which led to the game being indefinitely delayed until could address player concerns.
Infinite will feature a new open-world and a separate, free-to-play multiplayer component, but we're still hoping for a Halo game in the ways that matter: gameplay, gameplay, gameplay.
Weapons feel powerful, and Master Chief seems to have plenty of new tools at his disposal this time around, including large pop-up shields, some sort of sonar ability, and a grappling hook that can snag items and enemies alike. New World will include a classless action combat system with dodging, blocking, and various active abilities that you can unlock by leveling up each weapon Mastery rank through simply using it in combat. These trees include the active abilities we just mentioned -- such as a powerful axe throw -- as well as passives and combos.
New World will give you plenty of opportunities to take advantage of these systems, of course. The system is completely opt-in, but should you choose to participate, the rewards will be significant: take the Settlement system, for example. Insomniac is cooking up more Spider-Man goodness, and this time Peter Parker and Mile Morales will join forces to fight someone that sounds suspiciously like Kraven the Hunter in Spider-Man 2. But the real focus looks to be player-versus-player ship skirmishes online, where each player controls their very own warship in team-based fleet battles.
There will also be supernatural elements amidst all the cannon-fire, like the colossal tentacles of a terrifying kraken lurking in the deep. Everwild is a new IP from Rare exclusively for Xbox One that has already caught our attention thanks to its wonderful art style and enchanting world.
We really don't know much about this new adventure yet, but the mystery surrounding it just makes it all the more tantalising. Set in a "natural and magical world," Everwild promises to take us on an unforgettable experience. From the trailer that debuted at X, it's certainly shaping up to be one to keep an eye on. We can hardly wait to find out more about Everwild's world and the many creatures that appear to inhabit it. This is an RPG with survival elements involved, and quite the little sense of humour.

Team Cherry is bringing us another Hollow Knight adventure with Silksong. This time we follow the journey of Princess Hornet - protector of the Hollownest - who's been captured and taken to a strange and distant world. With over new foes and new moves to master, you'll get to explore new towns, complete quests, and try out new tools in this unfamiliar kingdom.
The interconnected world Team Cherry has brought to life in its beautiful hand-crafted 2D style is filled with a variety of different vistas that all look absolutely gorgeous, and with so many new features and foes to encounter, Silksong is one jam-packed sequel to watch out for. From the clues hidden in the trailer, it looks like we're looking at an Indy story set in , with our whip-touting hero exploring the standing stones and stone circles of Italy.
From the hints, it may even be that we're looking at the story involving a lost race of giant cyclops too.
