Important Program Information. Please note that Students must be at least 14 years of age, but not more than 18 years when their program starts. Gap year students are eligible and need to depart no more than 3 months after completing their final year. Canada applicants must also be younger than 18 and 8 months whilst on the program. There are no formal language requirements for Canada.
Students interested in French speaking Canada are only eligible to apply for the 5 month program. There are strict language requirements for students applying for French speaking Canada. Students applying for French speaking Canada will need to have completed at least 2 years of continuous language studies prior to departure. Students will also need to undergo an interview in French, with our overseas partner.
High school hours are usually from 8. Extracurricular activities and sports are scheduled after school hours.

Q Language classes or tutoring if required to meet language requirements or as requested by host school. The YES Canada reciprocal student exchange program allows students to participate in a cost effective tuition free exchange and provides the opportunity for Canadian students to travel abroad for study and international students to attend school in Canada. When a reciprocal exchange occurs within a school board tuition fees are offset, where this cannot occur a levy is applied.
In these areas YES Canada will act to negotiate contracts with school boards to enable the levy to be waived, however this cannot be guaranteed. Host Country Program Deposit due upon conditional acceptance. Please note fees are specific to each exchange country.
Payments can be made via wire transfer, personal cheque, credit card or electronic transfer. If you will be using cheques we advise sending post-dated cheques. The application fee invoice is included with your full application. A full program fee invoice will be issued at the point of conditional acceptance. It is your responsibility to note the payment due dates and make payments accordingly.
